Question:
Cannot access BIOS anymore. Why?

Bought my laptop around three months ago. Up until recently, I've been able to access the BIOS settings simply by pressing the F2 button on startup. Now however, this button just takes me to a list of the operating systems installed (only Windows 7 at the moment). I've been messing around with Windows 8 and Ubuntu, but both have been removed from my system now.

I don't understand why I cannot access the BIOS settings anymore.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

EDITED:

I read the manual. & it says F2 just like you said . It says to wait until the Samsung Logo appears & hit F2 while it is present.

I might suggest that you power down the unit , unplug & remove the battery. press the power button & the drive button a few times to drain any residual power that may be holding any kind of charge in any circuits. Drain it DEAD .

Then return the battery , (& plug it in if the battery is low) Then Boot.

Again at the Logo , press & hold F2.

ADDITIONAL RESTORE OPTIONS:

I also read that there are 3 restore options with the Samsung models.

You actually need to enter the restore program to see if it has them. It it only has the COMPLETE system restore "where everything needs to be deleted & installed again" You can cancel at any time.

It may have the option for ....

1 Basic restore : Restore ONLY major Windows Files in a short time

2 Complete Restore: Restore C drive to the previous Normal State

3 Data restore : Restores Important files &/or folders to a previously Backed up state.

If you decide to use any of these restore options You SHOULD start with a charged battery

And , PLUG IT IN ! To prevent any chance of a possible Power failure

To Enter: Reboot.

At the Logo , Press F4. If the F4 key does not function , reboot & try again, this time repeatedly tapping the key during the duration of the logo screen

Samsung recovery solution will appear. ( Touchscreen & other optional functions will not operate during this mode)

By clicking " Select Symptom", a Symptom menu appears.

If you Select a symptom , a recommended option will blink. Click the option to continue.

Select BASIC or COMPLETE from the menu

Recommend select BASIC.

You should only run COMPLETE Restore ONLY if a BASIC was tried first and failed.

Usually the button to access the BIOS is Escape(Esc on keyboard) if that doesn't do anything remove the CMOS battery from your computer (round flat battery on your motherboard) doing so for 20 secs will get rid of your BIOS settings. If none helps try getting some help from your manufacturer.

Unplug everything connected to your computer. Then take out the battery and press the power button for 15 seconds so it drains all the extra power. Open up your reminiscence slot and take both out and put them back in. Then are trying booting up your pc. Also one memory may be defective so are trying taking one out. After which vise versa that until it sucessfully boots on
