As a couple of peeps say there is no need to delete the dial up access BUT what could happen is that IE will try to dial up even though your already connected. If that happens you will need to tell IE "never to dial a connection". How- easy if you know. Open IE select tools, then internet options then the connections tab.

then under settings choose never dial a connection.

Hope this helps.

Here you go just a brief info about your Q..

Dial-up..

Dial-up access is a form of Internet access via telephone line. The client uses a modem connected to a computer and a telephone line to dial into an Internet service provider's (ISP) node to establish a modem-to-modem link, which is then routed to the Internet.

Broadband...

A local area network (LAN) is a computer network covering a small geographic area, like a home, office, or group of buildings. The defining characteristics of LANs, in contrast to Wide area networks (WANs), include their much higher data transfer rates, smaller geographic range, and lack of a need for leased telecommunication lines.

It means you do not need to remove the dailup connection and your new Broadband will be install, just you need to do is remove the dailup network icon , or if you wane use for stand by you can keep it too..

few ppl use broadband and keep dailup for backup..

GOOD LUCk.

Yes, just install the new stuff as per the instructions that will come with it. Nothing to worry about. Your new setup will take over from the dial-up.

Leave it where it is. You never know that there won't be a future occasion when your broadband 'goes down' and you'll still have internet access with the dial-up.

it depends on your preference if the modem is in an expansion slot by all means you can remove it and use that slot for something more useful like ausb expansion to add some more usb ports. or you can remove the modem and replace it with the ethernet card you'll have to have to use broadband.

Make sure you disable the option for dial-up in Windows. You could give away your redundant kit if you know how to uninstall it from your PC.
