I'm getting really fed up with this now. Every time I go onto Facebook or Twitter, within seconds...and every 15 seconds or so I get a pop up "Stop running this script. A scripton this page is causing your browser to run slowly. If it continues to run your program may become unresponsive." Then there's a YES or NO option. I always click yes. But 15 seconds later or less the box pops up again and it's really frustrating.

I've googled it and I DO have my Script debugging box checked and my clear sctipr messages box unchecked etc. I even uninstalled and reinstalled the latest version of Java..and STILL I get the pop up box! HELP!!! My laptop's less than 3 month's old!!!! So what's gone wrong already?

If you insist on running IE, disable script debugging totally. There's nothing you can do about a slow or bad script, so why would you want to know about it. Scripts that seem to have timed out will still trigger a popup, though.

If you want to eliminate that bug (it *is* a bug if it can't be turned off, and it can't be in IE), run Firefox. Then, if you ever get to the point that you *do* want to know what the scripts are doing, you can turn it on. Firefox won't bother you if you tell it not to (which is the default in Firefox - "run what you can, ignore what you can't run"; you have to download an add-on to see script problems if you want to).

BTW, Java is to Javascript as ham is to hamster - they share some letters. The problem is a Javascript problem, it has nothing to do with Java.
