Cloud computing is just another name for an older concept of "Software as a service". The term "Cloud Computing" is only a few years old, but software as a service has been around for more than a decade.



Amazon AWS and Rackspace are the two biggest.

Well, in the early days of computing, users connected with distant mainframes using dummy terminals. With the birth of the microprocessor, everyone could have a computer on their desk and in their home. The internet brought these devices together.
