Calling all computer experts..whats wrong with my computer?

My computer is really messed up. Whenever you use it, it goes all bizzirk every couple of minuites meaning that it'll close the internet if im looking at something, it'll open up all kinds of stuff that I didn't even click on like the start menu foler, etc. Then if you try to move the mouse its as if it clicks on a whole bunch of stuff and closes other stuff that I have open. I always have to push CTRL ALT DEL then close that and it'll work again for awhile. Also sometimes it won't let me click on stuff I have open so I again have to push CTRL ALT DEL and then it'll let me keep doing what I was doing once I close it. This Is hard to explain what it does so I hope I gave a good enough description. Could there be some kind of spywear on my computer..we have norton anti-virus..i'm just not sure whats up with it?

Download and run Spybot search and destroy from here:

http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/ It should find and clean almost any spyware you have.



Also, if you should be using a current antivirus program. Not sure how you did that, but a neat thrick. Sounds like your firewall may have fallen. Go to control panel then click security and follow instructions. i suggest you download a spyware, virus and new firewall. There are a ton of sites. Also to protect yourself from opening up a bad site install McAfee Site Advisor or one of the other. They have a ton of free ware that will help you remove this kind of stuff. www.filehippo.com, download.com, majorgeeks.com, etc. Great firewalls are zonealarm, avasti, good spyware is adaware, CCcleaner, Spybot Search and destroy.



You can read up on them and download in no time. They have little articcles explianing each one. One you install just run it and follow instructions.



Do not get freaked out about using them. they are real simple and do all the work for you, you just push the button when it comes up there is something and the program wil remove it. Install as soon as possible. Yahoo has the free Norton deal. get to work and it should clean your computer up also make it run faster. There is also online support for your problems and chat rooms that will help figure out what is wrong and they will tell you how to run a printout so you can e-mail them and they'll help.

If you don't want to do that then buy a new computer or take it to a computer fixer and leave untill they clean it lup.

Pre-Fetch File Cleaning



pre-fetch files are "cached" or stored copies of files/websites you visit each session

after a period of time,these files hog up a LOT of disk space

for this reason,i advocate the deletion weekly of those space hogs

some claim that windows will automatically remove files older than 7 days

I have found MY pc does NOT perform this task so I do it manually

what happens is,when you go to a website,your pc looks into your pre-fetch file/folder

to see if that website is "cached",stored there FIRST

this gives you a faster website load,BUT,you get the "cached" version and NOT the NEWEST version

unless you have "check for newest version" checked in internet options

it may take that website 1/2 a second longer to load

but,you'll get the newest version loading each time



as added security,spyware removers often miss these files,so delete them manually.
