For the past two days, when I go to 'Start', then 'Turn Off' on my Computer, a mysterious picture appears just before the close down takes place. The picture stays on my screen for about 30 seconds, then disappears.
I know that the picture is one of MAYA tribespeople, because I saw the same one, in a Nat. Geog . magazine some time ago.
How could a picture of a Maya ceremony, got on to my computer? Where will it be located on my computer and how do I remove it? I've tried Search, then Maya, but I got no result.
Please come up with an answer, because this has really got me baffled.

Do not be concerned. Windows "remembers" the last desktop wallpaper in memory just before shutdown. Do this to get rid of those scary triblespeople...

-Right click anywhere on your desktop

-Select Display Properties

-Select Background

-Pick a new background picture, something you like but not the same as your current background

-Restart your computer

-repeat the steps above, but select the background picture you want to be the permanent picture

That's it.

The only thing that I can think of is, when you go to turn off computer it can show your desktop wallpaper alone for about 30 seconds. Clearly this Maya picture is not your desktop wallpaper so it may be a corrupted file that came when you downloaded a theme. If you run XP did you ever download windows blinds or some other theme software?

If so maybe if you uninstall it. You could also try right clicking on your destop and select properties, change to the XP theme and appearence and shut down you PC and see if it's the same.

Very Strange, good luck :)

you've probly got a virus, run a scan with your antivirus and see if anything pops up. some programs should get rid of the virus automaticall, then some you might have to manually go in and delete it.

good luck on figuring out what it is if im wrong!

make certain the activate the back of the psu says your wattage. u . s . is a hundred and ten, whilst different places are 220. in case you reside in ecu, and its set to a hundred and ten, get a clean power grant. if your interior the u . s . in basic terms make certain this is on a hundred and ten. If this does not help your power grant could be ineffective.

Need some more details.

What operating system are you running?

Have you ever used any desktop theme software before?

Thanks.
