I have a software that is downloading stuff from the Internet in the background. It runs for hours and takes much of my bandwidth what makes surfing with my browser slow during that time.

I would like to limit the Internet access for this software to, lets say, just 10 kb/s so that It doesn't use all the bandwidth all time. I couldn't find a software that does that. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Joan

If it is a dedicated downloading program, such as a P2P program, it will have a bandwidth-limiter built-in.

would help if you mention the app in use...assuming its some sort of file sharing/p2p app it will have bandwidth limits in there for both upload and download speeds...if not there is a program called netlimiter which allows you to adjust the bandwidth of all programs. cheers
