Question:
If I copy a video song of 30 MB and paste it in a separate folder then would it consume another 30 MB?

What I want to know is that when there is file of certain memory and then if we copy it and paste it in different drives then would it again consume the same amount of memory for each copied file or whether the system identifies one file as the main file and others would just be treated as copied files and would consume only 1 kb.

If you copy something for example a song of 30 MB and paste it in a separate folder it would consume another 30 MB.

Instead you can just right click on the song and press "cut" that will delete the file after you have pasted it on a separate folder! So this way you will not consume another 30MB

Yes, it will.

When you move a folder it does not make a new one and delete the old one.

It stays in the same location on the disk and the file system changes the directory in which you see the file.

It doesnt actually move it on the hard drive, because I can take 500GB of Games on my computer and move them to a different folder and it only takes half a second.

This is because the file system only moved it into a different folder on your computer that you see.

These folders have absolutely nothing to do where the data is actually stored on your hard drives disk(s). They are just for show so you can visually organize your stuff.

Yes, copying a file means you are duplicating it. If you were to create a shortcut to it then it would save a lot more space.
