For person-friendliness none is greater suited than Ubuntu. for various style you may attempt kubuntu or fedora middle 9 (I made it appear as if vista so that's no longer undesirable). Solaris is yet another form of style. yet they does not help ext3 filesystem and not very person-friendly OS. so which you're taking judgements.
