Hey everyone! As you can already see from the attached photo the footnotes appear at the end of the sentence instead of the beginning.
Anyone have any suggestions or know how to fix this?
Thanks in advance.

AFAIK, that is correct. In the body, footnote markers do indeed appear at the end of the sentence and then at the bottom of the page or at the end of the chapter, the markers appear at the beginning of the notes.

If you simply want numbers raised in front of sentences, use superscript and make the font size smaller.

You must not be using the footnote functions correctly

or possibly you are using one of the free version online "Word" which does not have support the footnote

capabilities. You select the text you want the footnote to

refer to and MS opens a footnote section at the bottom of the screen for you to enter the footname.

You don't just type the footnote at the bottom.

The footnote reference number appears at the end of the line in the body of the paragraph.

The actual footnote at the bottom of the page starts with the reference number.

If you used the standard insert function function in "Word", it works fine for me. How did you enter the footnotes.

To Insert a footnote.

1. Select the text that you want it to refer to.

2. Click on Reference tab at the top of "Word" .

3. Click on "Insert Footnote". (Alternate Steps for 2 and 3. Press "Alt-Ctl-f" )

(Word automatically adds the correct reference at the end of the line.)

4. Word will open the footnote section at the bottom of the page. It will begin with the reference number..

5. Enter the footname in front of the reference number. Since you enter the information after the reference

the number cannot end on the end.

An Example

In the text:

He said "Grover don't it . It will bankrupt the country".

Select it.

He said "Grover don't it . It will bankrupt the country".(the text is highlighted)

Click on Insert Footnote from reference tab. or Press "Alt-Control-F" to do the same thing.

He said "Grover don't it . It will bankrupt the country".(raised 1 appears here.)

at the bottom Footnotes section appears followed by the cursor wait

(raised 1 is here) _

Type in your Footname

(raised 1) He was speaking to Grover Cleveland. The president of the US at the time.

I don't understand your problem.

footnotes are going exactly where a footnote should.

Footnote = an additional piece of information printed or typed at the bottom of a page.

i think you are getting Footnotes confused with a Header possibly.

or numbered bullet points
