Yep. This is very expensive and complex to start from the ground up. If you are not a whiz with computers, networks and Internet protocols you might want to consider becoming a reseller first.



Reselling is where you can setup your own hosting business by selling space on someone else's service. GoDaddy, Prohosting, to name a couple, offer this.



Basically you rent a server from them for a flat rate each month. Then you find customers who pay you monthly to host their site. Host as many sites as the server capacity will handle. It setup so all the customer sees is your company.

Web hosting is just people payihng you money to use space on your server so they can post their web sit e on the web. ITs' actually pretty complicated for a single person, so you should get a company toge ther first in my opinion.



HOW YOU DO IT:

First, you should buy a server or two. Hook it up to the web. Refer to server setup instructions on how to get it registered. Then, you make sure there's a lot of free space, and post a web site to sign up. You have to keep track of the URLs and IP addresses, though. IT's a LOT of work, and i mean A LOT! Just designing the website is a lot of work, and it's even more work setting up the server. If I were youl, I would consider another job.
