On this website, i was really stupid and for some reason [the website was for fb.. so yea] this one guy probably had his account hacked, and there was a link saying "why people turned away from coke" or something like that.. so i pressed it and it lead me to a page saying something about how it's not the websites fault if there are any viruses onto the computer now, and that the link lead me to a fake link.. so did this give me a virus? or anything?!?! It's making me mad >:[ i dont want any virus killing sites, i'll probably just get it installed.. so do you think my computer caught a virus?!

Download PCTools Spyware Doctor (pack.google.com) It's from Google, so you know it's safe, and it should find anything you throw at it, I have been using it for a while and haven't had problems.

There's no way to tell if you have been infected by a virus just from that information, a virus is simply data that harms your computer, so it's really hard to tell if the website sent a program that caused any harm just by looking at a description. The only way to know if you caught a virus or not would be to scan your computer with an anti-virus software.

there is only one sure way to stop getting viruses, that is to stop using windows, and use any one of the 100 or so free alternative operating systems that are available to you. Windows is not the only operating system in the world. though it is the worlds worst operating system for getting Viruses, Malware and Trojans and the most insecure system there is,

there are several free operating systems

FreeBSD (Mac type Operating System)

PC-BSD (Mac type Operating System)

PC-OS

CentOS

Gentoo

Linux

You can download these operating systems from here with all the software that you will ever need, all free to download

http://distrowatch.com/

Yahoo, Google Myspace, Facebook and every other social website uses Linux Operating Systems they don't use Microsoft operating systems so get with the secure operating system

If you can't tell for sure, you can always run a virus scan. I've heard Malwarebytes (http://www.malwarebytes.org/) is a great program for detecting viruses but I haven't used it.

I also use avast! (http://www.avast.com/) anti-virus and I haven't had any issue with malware on my computer since installing it.

Both programs are free and legitimate. Hope that helps with your computer problems.

and if.... it has harmed, u have to reinstall your windows and buy a premium av.

i can suggest a good one, it is not so costly, and very reliable: Guardian from quick heal. have a look:http://www.guardianav.co.in/

the website will give it to you for rs.999 but you can buy it from your nearest store not more than 500-550

If you have a decent anti virus, you're safe.
