My work laptop was working fine last night, but this morning I started having trouble with its internet connection. It appears to be connected to my wireless network and the status of the connection is good (information received and sent in the 3000s), but when I open up Firefox it fails to connect to any website. I also tried my luck with Internet Explorer to no avail. It's not my home wireless connection either (I'm on it right now with my home computer). I also have a Verizon Wireless USB card that I tested with no luck (I was using it yesterday as well). The real puzzling thing to me though, is the fact that I can still open up outlook express and recieve and send e-mails. This is extremely frustrating!

Also, my firewall is completely off and I still have no luck accessing web pages.

Thanks for ANY advice!

Did you install using any software or a CD that came with the Usb Card or did you connect using windows wireless connectivity utility? Either way it might be useful to try the other way to which you used, or especially if you used software, to reinstall the app.

I can't seen an immediate problem, but I recommend just to try and restore the computer to a day when the internet was known to be working. On XP this can be found under start>all programs>accessories>system tools>system restore. This could alleviate the problem. Otherwise I don't know?

i ought to respond no longer because of the fact I even have an answer for this question, as I too have a similar difficulty with my on the spot router, yet because of the fact one replied which you would be too some distance from the router. i presumed this replaced into the project too, being slightly too some distance from the router. although, as quickly as I placed the router straight away at the back of my laptop, with the adapter straight away in line bodily with the router, I nonetheless have a similar connectivity difficulty. I periodicly lose my conectivity and ought to click on my connection icon interior the notification area and click, "fix", which then is going interior the path of the fix technique and then I even have my connection returned till the subsequent time this occurs. I too am finding for an answer to this difficulty. i'm interior the technique of speaking with the technical branch of my router, that's Belkin. I even have accomplished many exams on my connection setup and configuration and all of it exams out. There should not be a controversy with lost connectivity. although, there is. slightly a conundrum in case you question me. i think of it ought to have somthing to do with the final firmware replace I had for my router. i did no longer experiance this difficulty till after that firmware replace. i will watch this question to work out if a potential answer is presented. thank you for asking it. Have a effective day.

Try rebooting your wireless router and your cable modem. This has work for me in the past.
