I'm listening to some tunes on You Tube but the bass can sounds quite distorted on my computer. I've tried watching different videos but it's still the same. I'm listening through the internal speakers.

Advice please!

Get a decent soundcard, and hook it up to some decent speakers.

(It depends on how good you want it and how much you wanna spend)

Remember the sound on youtube videos are at the mercy of the creator and then compressed to fit the sound format for flash video, so i guess it's not the best place to listen to music for its sound quality

Try getting a pair of extra speakers, not too dear. The ones on a PC are usually rubbish. So is the sound quality on some YouTube videos, though, so it may not help much.

First you can get new speakers. $20 will get you a great pair, but for $40+ you can get a surround sound set. Bose has awesome setups.

Also look up some audio cards from Nvidia and ATI. ANY board is better than your built in audio drivers.

if you want good audio than you need good sound card, the best from creative, chose one affordable for your pocket,

get the speakers from Creative too, they seem to make it very good for computers. My all family has Creative and lets face it the sound is amazing, but as long as Creative makes the best sound cards (in my opinion and many people i know) you still can get better speakers but creative in wood should give you all you need for computer. Plastic or any other material is worst than wood, so pick wooden built speakers if you can afford them

other thing that might help is reinstalling drivers for your sound card, try get the newest from the manufacturer,

try reinstalling direct x, as it is responsible for sound and graphic on PC (I believe)

and check your speakers for example plug them in to mp3 player to check for sure that it is sound card or software not speakers,

you can also try to think if before trouble appeared if it did, if you installed some codecs, if so, unistall them.

By a cheap system with a small subwoofer. You can get a nice one for 25-50.00.

Check the proper drivers are correctly installed in device manager if they are installed properly then try to update with new drivers. If your speakers are faulty then change them with new one.
