I have been doing java for last 2 months. And in fact i have completed core java almost 75%Left with topics like collections,i/o(new),networking and concurrency utilities.Completed classes multithreading generics and exception handling.I have understood whatever i have read but the problem is i am not confident of applying these skills.I am at a critical point of my career that i want to search jobs within next 2-3 months.Shall i continue with programming or go afresh with Linux admin skills? Please don't say its up to your interest.Because i have heard its not that tough. Is it? or shall i go networking way?

Networking or Linux Admin will give you better career in long term. don't be 1 among N by learning Java or Dot Net.

Career in IT infrastructure will give you recession proof job.

As you are fresher, then its better to opt for Linux admin career because its a most demanding and exciting career in It field. as you are familiar with Java and c programming then, it will not take much time for you to learn the Linux administration skills.
